February: New Month, New Goals

I know I'm definitely a little late in posting my February goals, but lets be real, who cares? As long as I'm making goals and sticking to my guns, does it really matter? I don't think so. The last day Dustin and I have off together, we always go on a "leisurely drive." We call it our "Sunday cruise" you know, when you see all the elders out joy riding Sunday after church...except we work on Sundays, so it's never actually on a Sunday. I love our leisurely drives because it gives us plenty of time to talk about anything and everything under the sun. Today we decided to go for a drive through The White Mountains in New Hampshire, which isn't too far from our hometown. The White Mountains is located in The White Mountains National Forest, a beautiful scenic highway. It was beautiful to peer over at the snow capped mountains, slowly sip our Starbucks and talk about our future. I absolutely love having a companion that truly enjoys the same activities as I do. I think it's so important to disconnect from technology, and get a little lost in the wilderness, it keeps you in tune with you inner most self. While driving through the mountains, we began to discuss our goals for the next few months ahead, as we are planning some big, bold moves in the near future. Now that we're home I've decided to share just a few of my blog, and personal goals for the month of February.

BLOG GOALS:

Write Ahead// I would love to start writing my posts ahead of time, so I can schedule more posts during the week. Due to working crazy hours, it can be hard for me to post during the week. This month I'm going to have to begin to write my posts a day or so before I'd like to hit the "publish" button.

Organization// I'm doing a lot better at this! In my phone I have a sticky note that has "blog post ideas" with numerous ideas. That being said, I'd like to stick to my original ideas and just run with it.

Develop my niche// I originally created this blog as a "personal" type of blog, now, I'm realizing I'd like to kick it up a notch. I'd love to develop the "beauty" section of my blog more, and write about what truly matters to me: all things beauty. I also would like to narrow down topics I feel so passionate about, like fitness, the great outdoors, and life in general, and write about them. I would like to move away from so many personal posts, not that it's a bad thing, but I'm ready to expand on the list of topics found on my blog.

PERSONAL GOALS:

Continue saving money// I'm still not ready to let onto what Dustin and I have planned for our future, it's a huge step in the right direction and I can't wait to share more with you all. Several months ago we agreed to open a separate savings account together and deposit as much as possible each week, and so far, we're doing the best we can.

Making self-care a priority//  I've been doing very well with practicing positive self care, between exercise and eliminating the negative in my life. This month I want to make it more of a focus to keep on the right path and keep focus on what's most important.

Fitness// I've always been a big advocate for eating clean and training mean. In January alone, I've seen so many gains, in my legs, glutes, and arms, and I'm feeling incredible to say the least. This month I'm making it a priority to stick to my routines and keep hitting the gym 3-5 days out of the week. My main focus this February is to do more arms and ab workouts as a whole, while still working on my legs and glutes.

Eating Healthy// Dustin and I decided this month it's time to get more serious about eating healthy. We both eat super healthy during the week, but when it comes to the weekends, we tend to binge on junk food. Yesterday we purchased a weeks worth of smoothie ingredients and decided to make for of an effort. I love that my guy is super supportive of my health/fitness goals and is willing to jump on the "eat clean" bandwagon with me, it just makes it that much easier.

Have a kick ass V-Day// Truth be told, I feel like Valentines Day IS a day where you should show your lover a little extra love. Honestly, Dustin always makes me feel like I'm his #1 priority, best friend, and life partner every single day. He's always going above and beyond, leaving me cute messages on sticky notes, sending me good morning texts, and always showing me just how much I matter to him. Regardless of what we're doing, I'm hoping Valentines Day will be fun, and memorable.
