Life Lately & a Big Announcement!
Hello lovelies! How are you all doing lately? I swear time is FLYING by here! I could of sworn I just moved to Texas just a few months ago - but it's already been 10 months! Alright, I'm about to get real, real fast. I haven't been as present on the blog because I've been making a few major, super exciting life decisions. If any of you follow me on Instagram, you probably have already seen what I've been up to. One of my biggest goals for this year was to go back to school. I really wanted to start figuring out my direction, and just where I was headed in terms of my career. First things first, let me get something straight:
I absolutely love where I'm at with my career in Sephora, the beauty industry is a huge part of my life and I love helping women feel beautiful. I love teaching, and inspiring others to own and embrace their beauty, I really, really do. I'm kind of just obsessed with the entire industry as a whole to be honest.
I've been in the industry for a long time, practically since I got out of high school, and I wouldn't change it for the world. But, again, I've always wanted to go back to school. I love working in hair, makeup, and skincare but I know that I have other passions, those of which deserve to be explored.
Which is exactly what I've set out to do.
For years, I've had a clear view of what I wanted, where I wanted to work, and just what I wanted to do. And it's ALWAYS been somewhere in the beauty industry. My passion lies in helping others, to become the very best version of themselves possible. I also love to write- maybe I'll write a book one day-but for now, I'm too busy for that! And one of my biggest passions, still, aligns in helping others. I've always had a passion for Nutrition and Fitness. If you know me personally, you know that wellness is my everything. I am always constantly coaching my friends and family, even strangers to partake in the healthiest lifestyle imaginable. I'm always at the gym, and you can always find me meal prepping. I'm just a girl that loves leading a healthy lifestyle (but loves the occasional donut too)
This year, I finally started tossing around an idea that never really came to me: entering the health & wellness field. I've always had an interest in becoming a RN, or even a CNA, because I loved helping others. I'm a nurturer by nature, so I knew something in the health field would suit me well. Growing up, I was surrounded by illness, my parents are both disabled and unable to work because of their diseases/illnesses. That was the biggest factor in my life in wanting to lead the healthiest, happiest life imaginable. And still to this day, my parents still are the biggest influencer in my deciding factor in wanting to enter the health/wellness world.
Because of my parents, I truly want to help those that struggle, I want to nurture, coach and inspire others to become healthy and happy. Since I've been in Texas, a lot has changed. I've finally decided to do the thing that's always simmered in the back of my brain. I've said it a lot on this blog of mine, and it just took me a little longer to realize that I should just go for it.
I want to coach, lead, inspire and push others to be their healthiest/happiest selves possible. See, bet you've heard that a lot from me!
In early April, I finally decided to chase my passion and enroll in school, online schooling of course for health/wellness. But then I realized it would take four years to begin a career in my field, so I deferred my enrollment to later this year. I'm super impatient, so I decided to jump into something, I could easily jump into in just a few short months. This April I signed up, and enrolled in a different type of online classes - a personal training course.
I decided this would be the fastest, and easiest transition into the heath/wellness world, through becoming a Certified Personal Trainer. I signed up for my training through ACE - American Counsel on Exercise. You can become certified in as short as 3 months, depending on how much time you have to study of course. I knew getting into this would be hard, because I already work full time at Sephora, so I knew I was in for a heavy workload. I'm so excited to see where this journey will take me. And I'm sooo excited to help others with their fitness goals.
Lately I've come to realize I need to start exploring my passions, and pursue more of what sets my soul on fire. I love the beauty industry, but I know it's not my "forever" career field, and that's 100% okay. I'll always have my Cosmetology License to fall back on, or go back to, which was in fact the plan from the start. Right now, I'm hungry for more, to grow, and start something totally new. Moving to Texas, I knew I needed to start, as soon as possible to pursue more. To dream a little, and take action.
As a fitness fanatic, I can't wait to learn more about the body, how it works, and how to train others. I've been tossing around the idea of becoming a Nutritionist, so really, the possibilities in this career field are endless. I'm even thinking after this, becoming certified to teach Barre, just to add something more to my resume (and because it's an ass-kicking workout, literally!) To be completely honest, I am so excited for this new chapter in my life. This certification is just the tip of the iceberg in my journey into the health wellness world. I can't wait to finish, become certified, enter a gym, and then finally begin school to earn my degree. I can't wait to see where this journey will take me.
