Monday Mantra - Pause


Hello lovelies and happy Monday! I've decided to begin a new series on my blog called, "Monday Mantras" Mondays are a day everyone seems to dread and I decided I wanted to help everyone kick it up a notch. Mondays are days we're all feeling a little overwhelmed, drained, and a little wound up...so why not try to tweak the way we view Mondays? Every Monday I will be posting a motivational quote, a mantra if you will -to help not just myself, but others get and stay motivated, to help maintain focus, and get us thinking about our goals and aspirations. I'v chosen to begin this new series on my blog because I'm ready to get inspired, and help others in the process.

 

This weeks Monday Mantra....

This weeks Monday mantra comes straight at you from exactly how I'm feeling today. Today I'm feeling burnt out. Exhausted. Over it. Just honestly fried out and ready for some "me" time. Life has been nothing but lovely, and I can't complain in the least bit but it's also been pretty chaotic. You know those crazy 40 hour work weeks, with little to no days off when all you want is to just curl up under a blanket and sleep for a little while? Yeah, I'm totally riding that wave today. The sad part of it all is that today is day one of my work week, and I'm already feeling burnt out. Other than being completely exhausted, I'm also so incredibly thankful. Thankful to finally be working for my dream company, and to finally feel like I'm on the right path.

Even when we're crazy exhausted, can't seem to find the time to slip into our sweats, we're making progress, we just have to remember that. 

Today I found it necessary to make this mantra relevant. Relevant to everything going on in my life at the moment. I typically don't make my mantras personal, but this week that's exactly what I'm doing. Life lately has been nothing but sweet, and I truly can't complain about a damn thing. The only thing I wish I would do more often, every day even, is to simply pause.

Pause and reflect. Pause and evaluate, and remind myself that I'm doing just fine. 

This is simply one of the most important things anyone could do for themselves. It will make all the difference in your thoughts, actions, and how you measure your successes - no matter how big or small. Taking a breather, just a second to pause and let your thoughts flow freely is refreshing. For me, lately, it's been about simply putting my phone down and taking a look around. Letting myself get lost in my thoughts, if only for a few minutes. I've been trying to distance myself from social media, my phone especially. It's so easy to get caught up in social media and lose sight of what is truly important. This small action is something every single one of you can do to make your Monday seem a bit brighter.

Simply sit down, shut up and pause... you'll thank me later.

Taking a second to pause from whatever you're doing can be therapeutic and make you more productive as a whole. Whatever you're doing, whoever you are, take a second and do this simple task. No matter what type of chaos is consuming your life, you deserve to take a second for yourself. You deserve to rest and recharge your batteries, without guilt. Step away from your desk, your responsibilities, even for five minutes. Don't let your responsibilities or obligations weigh you down. You are human and you deserve time to rest and reflect, allow yourself that time. Today, pause, and reflect. Remind yourself that you're doing just fine, and no matter what you achieved today, let that be enough.
