Spring Fever

Happy Saturday lovelies! It's been awhile, and I'm terribly sorry about the lack of updates. I've been occupied with starting something completely new, and haven't had the time to sit down at the computer. Today is my only day off this week, and I'm trying to make the most of it.  I've been on cloud nine all week, and finally feel like I'm taking a step into the right direction. Life lately has been nothing but sweet and I truly can't complain. Today I wanted to to talk about a few changes I've been experiencing as of late. What are you doing with your Saturday? I'd love to hear!

Lately things have been a little bit different around here, with snow is melting, the birds are chirping, and the first sighting of flip flops. I was grocery shopping last weekend and saw a woman in a denim skirt, tank top and flip flops, I was in awe. With springtime coming, people are feeling the fever so intensely. I remember this past Wednesday, the high in Portland was 69! Such a drastic change. This morning when I woke up to drive Dustin to work at 4am,  it was a harsh 26 degrees...I'm kind of bummed my only day off this week is going to be a chilly one. Here I was thinking I could throw on a maxi dress and light cardigan today, and boy was I wrong.

As much as I love the great state of Maine, winter can be the most dreadful time of year, and I'm glad it is on its deathbed.

Watching the sunrise this morning, I felt a glimmer of hope. I'm praying we aren't hit with a snow storm Monday. What I am excited about is the first official day of spring! As I'm sipping my Butter Pecan cup of coffee, hearing the purr of our fur baby, I'm so grateful for winter to be coming to a close. This winter was a brief, mild one and I'm grateful for that. I'm ready to see the green grass, to feel a warm breeze, and to finally sip an iced caramel macchiato.

I'm ready to slip into my favorite maxi dresses, to slink into our secret swimming spots, and to finally shake the winter blues away.

I swear I caught the most intense form of spring fever back in February. Last month I purged our entire house of the unnecessary, and cleaned every space imaginable. I even inspired Dustin to do the same. We went through our wardrobe together and cleaned out the clutter, and filled numerous bags to donate to Goodwill. For me, spring cleaning is about starting fresh. Purge the unnecessary, lightening your load, and donating all you can to charity. Last month I even bought a few new makeup storage kits for my vanity and threw out old makeup.

March for me, is all about updating my look, starting new projects, tying up loose ends, and making it all count

The first couple days of March started off with a bang from receiving a mini makeover - a fresh cut & color done by two of my loveliest friends from beauty school. The best part? It was all free. I swear that change created an everlasting domino affect. I'm feeling better than ever, and full of energy. Lately my workload and schedule has been intense, due to a big change (I'll share later!) but I've still managed to make hitting the gym a priority. Last month, Dustin also caught the bug, and decided he wanted to tone up a bit. I'm so proud of him for taking the initiative and making his health a top priority. Lately we've been hitting the trails, and hiking...even in the mud.

We've always been die hard wanderers, always adventuring through small towns, big cities, not even weather can get in the way of our wanderlust.

With springtime near, I'm ready for more outdoor adventures, late night drives just to grab an ice cream, and more daylight to spend time with the ones I love. I'm ready for a sun-kissed glow, for coral lips, and painted toes. I'm ready for April, to become another year older, and to celebrate with a mimosa or two. For all that springtime has to offer, I'm ready for it. What are you most looking forward to this spring? Do you have any springtime rituals? I'd love to hear about how you welcome the return of spring.
